Commission Art
The process
The oil painting commission process typically involves several steps. We’ll start by
discussing your vision for the painting, desired size and subject, as well as any other
specific details, after which I’ll send you a quote. Once a deposit is made, we will
arrange for reference photos and I’ll begin work on your commission.

Reference photos

Whenever possible, I prefer to take reference photos myself . By personally taking
the photos, I can capture specific angles, lighting, and details that are crucial to the
composition and mood of the later painting. If this is not feasible, I will help you
select or take the best possible reference photos yourself.

Pricing and Size

My commissions start at $300 for a 6x6 inch oil painting. For each additional
square inch, there is an additional charge of $6. This pricing structure gives you the
flexibility to find the budget that’s right for you.
Please keep in mind that smaller sizes are not suitable for every commission. For example, the base 6x6 size is not appropriate for a portrait of more than one face. Larger paintings provide more opportunity for rich detail and visual impact in your commission.
Payment
All commissions require a 50% non-refundable deposit and a signed project agreement before work begins. Final payment is due upon completion prior to delivery.
Shipping, tax, and additional services such as framing are an additional charge and may vary based on the specific commission. These charges will appear as part of the final payment upon completion of the project.

Payments can be made by Venmo, ApplePay, PayPal, any major credit card (for in-person payments only), or by check (delivery subject to check clearance)
