Painting the Still Life
From Composition to Execution
Workshop taught by Cristian Mora and Ben Walling
June 6 and 7, 2026 from 10:00am to 4:30pm
In this two day workshop, Cristian Mora and Ben Walling walk you through the full process of creating a still life painting. You'll start at the very beginning — learning how to select your objects, arrange them, and make deliberate choices about light, shadow, and space to build a composition that not only holds together, but it’s also strong. From there, you'll move into paint, developing the skills to take what you've set up in front of you and execute it on canvas.
The focus throughout is on process — understanding not just what to do, but why, so you can carry those decisions into your work long after the weekend is over.

Ongoing Group Lessons
These are weekly classes in my private studio, designed for students who want sustained growth rather than a one-time workshop. Consistent practice over time is what actually changes how you paint.
Sessions run three hours per week at a reserved time slot. Enrollment is ongoing — your spot is yours as long as you stay enrolled.
The group is small, feedback is personal, and the expectation is simple: show up and do the work.
$375/month, recurring. One makeup class per month available.
Spots are limited. For availability and enrollment, reach out at cristianmora.arte@gmail.com or through the contact page.
